Questions, answered.
Where do the exchange rates come from?
They are mid-market reference rates from Exchange Rate API. Our servers check for new rates every hour and validate each one before publishing. The rates are for information and planning, not quotes to exchange money.
Why is my bank's rate different?
Banks, card networks, and exchange services usually add a margin to the mid-market rate, charge a fee, or both. What you actually pay or receive will normally be less favourable than the rate shown.
Does it work without internet?
Yes, in the app. It keeps the most recent rates on your phone and shows when they were last updated, so you can keep calculating on a plane or abroad without data.
What ads will I see?
A banner at the bottom of the screen and, at most once an hour, a full-screen ad after you clear a calculation. There is never an ad when you open the app.
How do I remove ads, and can I cancel?
In the app, open Settings and choose Remove ads: $0.99 a month, $4.99 a year, or $14.99 once. Subscriptions can be cancelled anytime in your Google Play or App Store subscriptions; ads come back when the paid period ends.
Is there an iPhone app?
The Android app comes first, and the iPhone app is on the way. Until then, the web app works in Safari and can be added to your Home Screen.
